Dear Fellow Learner
Today I would like to cover the most effective way to create your very own personal success strategy. I often find that people struggle through life trying to achieve their dreams and I have to tell you IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS!
Everyone alive has their own unique success strategy that when discovered allows them to achieve unimaginable results with the greatest of EASE. A group of researchers from gallup.com did some studies into disengagement in the work place and discovered some fascinating facts about what keeps people inspired, engaged and authentically motivated.
Here are some of the interesting percentages around disengagement during work hours:
40% Disengagement with employees that were ignored at work
20% Disengagement with employees that were yelled at during work hours
These statistics interestingly point out that people would rather be yelled at then ignored in life! Makes you begin to understand why some people stay in certain relationships doesn't it?
What was most surprising though was this statistic:
<1% Disengagement with employees who used one of their top three strengths daily and were acknowledged for doing so.
This research clearly shows that in life you must find tasks, job, activities, products and/or services that allow you to highlight your pre-existing strengths. When we use our strengths daily with remain fully engaged to life with little effort. The simple reason is people like to feel good and nothing makes you feel better than doing something you are naturally good at.
So ask yourself the following questions:
• Do I know my top three strengths?
• How many hours each day do I dedicate to using them?
• Do the people around me acknowledge me for my strengths regularly?
• Do I acknowledge myself for my strengths regularly?
The answers to these questions will allow you to make some changes to the way you do things and the company you keep. Remember if you focus on strength based activities you will discover you personal success strategy and in no time at all you will be back in the ease and flow of life.
As great resource we would recommend is Siimon Reynolds new book 'Why People Fail'. It covers a range of great information around strengths.
In our next newsletter will be adding a strengths evaluator so you can pin point your core strengths.
