"I love six pack abs but I hate sit-ups!"

You should always look at selling as as persuading someone to experience their maximum potential and the beauty life has to offer. It was never about the money.

Sales is a microcosm of how life and the universe interacts. As you learn more about sales you learn more about yourself. There are too many lines that can be drawn between sales and personal development and leadership and relationships and health and finances.

Everything you do in life is based on how well you are able to sell yourself the new concept or idea. For example if you want to go to the gym and work out you need to provide yourself with a more enticing sales pitch than the one you ‘bought’ about staying home and watching TV. The greater you are at convincing yourself of the benefits and handling the objections before they arise the greater you will be at experiencing your true potential.

3. Expanding Possibilities For Those Around You

There is a special enjoyment you will receive when trying to ‘outwit’ your opponent who is often an expert at arguing for their limitations to ensure they never awaken to their infinite potential. It all sounds a little esoteric I know, however, this is what sales has always meant to me. It is just a fun game, pure and simple, where the opponent with the best strategic thinking is virtually always guaranteed to win.

Of course understanding emotions, having intuition, using the ability to read people, knowing the appropriate words to use and numerous other elements all play a vital part in the game. This is what makes it, in my mind, one of the greatest games available in the world today. Forget the internet, if you are really looking for some excitement go out there and sell something!
